Library patrons
should have their own card to check out materials. The initial
card is free ($1.00 to replace a lost or stolen card) and may
be used at any of the 29 branch libraries.

To get a card,
fill out a short application form and show identification:
Applicants
ages 18 years and older provide identification verifying current
address. Address may be verified through one of the following
options:
1. California
Driver License with current address.
2. California
Official Identification Card with current address.
3. Photo ID
AND current mail addressed to the applicant.
4. Current
utility bill AND current mail addressed to applicant (applicant
may be advised to mail himself a postcard and submit it upon receipt).
Two different utility bills may qualify (e.g., gas + phone, electric
+ phone, etc.).
Applicants
ages 15 - 17 may provide Parent's/Legal Guardian's identification
verifying current address or Applicant's photo I ID (including
Student ID) AND current mail, addressed to applicant.
Applicants
ages 14 and under provide identification verifying Parent's/Legal
Guardian's current address.
Juvenile applicants
must be present in the library for the registration.
* Most books
and other materials circulate for 21 days. Some high demand items
circulate for 7 days. In most cases items can be renewed for one
additional loan period if the item has not been reserved. Loan
periods for videos vary from 1 to 3 days,
* Patrons
are responsible for the. replacement cost of lost materials. Report
a lost or stolen card immediately. You are responsible for items
borrowed on the card until you report its loss.
* If a book
is checked out or not available, you can request it from any of
the 29 branches. You will be notified when it is available You
may also place the hold yourself on the computer. There is no
charge for reserving books. There is a 32 item checkout limitation.

388-0664 for current information on your overdue materials, fines
and requested materials. Renew
your library materials at least one day before due date.
Patrons who
fail to return borrowed materials will be referred to a collection
agency which might impact your credit rating.
The first
25 pages of computer printing per patron / per day will be free
but all addition pages will cost $.10 cents per page.
